PROGRAM
The intermediate rock climbing course is aimed at improving athletic gesture and basic technique to allow safe progression in climbing in the various conditions that can be found on the wall. During the course you will also learn the basics of tackling a multi-pitch route.
It is intended for those who have already developed the basic module or have equivalent experience.
The intermediate climbing course is taught, every weekday from May to October, by a Dolomiti SkiRock Mountain Guide at the beautiful Dolomite crags around Cortina d'Ampezzo to try out the different types of "terrain action."
The climbing course lasts for three days and is individual or group-based, with a maximum of four people per guide, for both adults and youth.
Topics covered:
- Materials: knots, double rope, friends, nuts, plate, descender, lanyards, ...
- Climbing techniques: advanced progression (slab, dihedral, crack, traverse, roof, ...), multi-length progression, placement of protections, types and setup of a belay, partner recovery, rappelling
- Safety: notions of rescue and self-rescue
