Basic Climbing Course

PROGRAM

From late May. Two-day outdoor climbing proposal (one day per weekend) aimed at those who have never tried the discipline, or those who feel unsafe.
The course takes place at equipped crags where participants will discover the basics of climbing safely.

Topics covered:

  • Climbing technique on supported terrain
  • Climbing technique on vertical terrain
  • Methods of binding
  • Belaying to the second roped party
  • Climbing as a lead climber
  • Insurance to the first of the roped party
  • Placement of protections (referrals)
  • Stopping maneuvering

Meet at Cortina360 at 5 p.m. Saturday for meeting and course presentation and equipment check.

Sunday 8:45 a.m. Meet at Cortina360 and leave for crag.

Next Sunday 8:45 a.m. Meet at Cortina360 for the second outing.

Ratio 1 Guide for up to 6 participants
