Ruggero, to his friends Ruggi, can boast a respectable resume: born in 1978, a ski instructor since '98, in 2000 he joined the Scoiattoli Group and following in his grandfather's footsteps (Sisto "Laresc") in 2003 he obtained the qualification of Mountain Guide. He is also a snowboard instructor and ski coach.
Among the most significant milestones of his mountaineering career is the free repeat (on the fourth attempt) of the Couzy route on the Cima Ovest of Lavaredo: this is the second Italian rotpunkt repeat and the fourth overall.
Also of great importance was the ascent, again rotpunkt, of the very difficult "Cathedral" in Marmolada: in this case Ruggero was the fourth mountaineer in the world to succeed!
Other significant feats in mountaineering Central Freney Pylon and Attempt at Cerro Torre.
Needless to say, these routes require not only great technical skills, but also considerable psychological preparation in facing extreme passages that are not always well protected.
At the crag Ruggero can boast of difficult 8b+ (Jurassic Climb at Erto and Welcome to the Jungle at Campo, Schiaccia liste at Laste, El prim di al becco, Sonica at landro F.A., a few 8a on sight and numerous 8b, but surely this list will grow longer.
Skiing skills are also notable: at the Punta nera Free ride Challenge he boasts two wins in the combined ahead of titled athletes on the freeride world tour circuit. He is also a carpenter in the family firm.
