My name is Pier-Francesco Smaltini, and I was born in San Candido in December 1980. It was snowing that day and I have always enjoyed skiing. At the age of 23 I became a snowboard instructor, and in my spare time I pursued a master's degree in economics. During my studies I realized that I wanted to be a mountain guide. They say that studying opens the mind, it seems to be true: I always liked going to the mountains, but only around the age of 30 did I realize that I could do it professionally. In 2018 together with some friends we created Cortina360. It may not be a peak but it was definitely a nice achievement. I have 2 sons, Alberto and Riccardo, they are starting to climb and I like to share my time with them.
