Basic Ski Mountaineering Course

PROGRAMME: 

Proposal aimed at those who want to discover classic ski mountaineering, and who want to develop new skills (ascent and descent technique).

  • Wonderful itineraries.
  • Introductory evening on GPS, route planning and mountaineering equipment.
  • Three days of practice in the snow
  • Maximum 4 people per Mountain Guide

Topics covered during the trip: ARTVA testing and companion rescue procedure - avalanche overview

Ski touring trip

with practical exercises with ascent and descent techniques inside.

Topics covered during the trip: planning and execution of a ski mountaineering trip, orientation, knowledge of materials, emergency strategy

Ski touring trip

Topics covered during the outing: recognizing avalanche factors, interpreting the avalanche report, choosing the line of ascent, reading the map, estimating the slope

Mandatory personal equipment: skis, skins, ski mountaineering boots.
Technical equipment for self-rescue (arva, shovel, probe)
For those without, Cortina360 can provide it for the days of the course.
